Your first visit to 2forTeeth
We warmly welcome you to our dental hygiene practice. To provide the best quality of care and services, we ask that you read below information and follow the rules we have outlined.
The first consultation
For quick registration, we prefer that you fill in your information on our registrationform and send it to us.
To properly register you in our system, we require that you bring a valid identification document with your BSN number (Dutch social security number) on it. This can be a passport, ID card, or driver’s license. We are legally obligated to perform a BSN registration and identity check as per the Dutch Law on the Use of Burgerservicenummer (BSN) in Healthcare.
If you have been referred to us by your dentist or orthodontist, they should have provided you with a referral letter. Make sure to bring this document with you as it contains important information for us.
If you have been under treatment by a dental hygienist before, we kindly ask you to request a copy of your medical records, as this will give us insight into your treatment history and enable us to better tailor our treatments to your teeth.
During the first appointment, the following will be done:
- A medical anamnesis (health questionnaire) will be taken
- An intra-oral examination will be conducted and any abnormalities will be recorded
- The objective treatment needs will be determined using the DPSI score
- Your treatment wishes will be discussed
- Our findings will be discussed and treatment will be carried out or follow-up appointments will be made and a budget will be established if the follow-up treatments cost more than €250.
Depending on the agreed upon treatment:
- Tartar and plaque will be removed
- Teeth will be polished
- Oral hygiene instruction and advice will be provided
- Fluoride treatment will be given
- A pocket or periodontium status will be made
The results of the examination and any treatment plan will be reported to your dentist. You always have the right to decline this.
Depending on your care needs, time will be reserved for you. This can be 45 minutes or an hour. Based on the rates set by the NZA (Dutch Healthcare Authority) for 2023, this means you should expect to pay between €135 and €189. These are the maximum rates, which may be adjusted downward. After the dental examination (or after the pocket or periodontium status has been made), we will discuss the costs with you.
Clinic regulations
We appreciate it if you inform us of any changes to your contact information, telephone number, email address, medication use, or health.
If you unexpectedly cannot make your appointment, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance by phone. This will prevent us from charging for the time that was reserved for you.
To prevent you from forgetting an appointment, we will send you a reminder via email two days in advance. For this, your current email address must be known at the practice. Sending your appointment reminder is an extra service that we are happy to offer you. However, it may happen that due to a technical storage on our part, you do not receive an email or it has ended up in your spam box. It does not absolve you of your own responsibility to comply with the appointment.
During office hours, we are not able to answer the phone. Therefore, please clearly state your question, name, and telephone number, and we will call you back as soon as possible.
We appreciate it if you put your mobile phone on ‘silent’ when entering the practice.
Payment and Insurance
If you have taken out additional insurance for dental care, you must check with your insurance company if the costs are covered. If you are insured, your invoice will be sent directly to your health insurer by the invoice processing company Infomedics. Any remaining invoices will be sent to your home address. If you do not have additional dental insurance, you will receive the invoice directly by email or post.
Do you suffer from:
